There's an element of West Side Story going on in Morgan Hill, California. That's where a group of kids decided to wear an American flag on Cinco De Mayo. Since, there has been a series of confrontations between students of Mexican descent and their American counterparts.
It's as though the kids from the red, white, and blue gang are itching for a fight with the kids with the kids from the green, white and red. There is an element of raw tribalism to these confrontations. The flag controversy has set off a series of confrontations that would be found in West Side Story.
