Big Government's Census Sting

Big Government has published a census sting. An undercover journalist, Shaughn Adeleye, got a job with the census and worked for four days during training. He found that SHOCK he was paid to take a fifteen minute break as well as to train. He even created a video.

That's all well and good. Here's my question. This guy got paid for 24 hours of work. He only worked during training and then quit. In other words, he never actually did his job. He was never an actual enumerator. So, what about the money the government paid him to train him? He never had any intention of being an enumerator. Isn't that fraud? Will the author give the money back? Will Big Government give this money back to the government?

  1. This sort of thing happens all the time, and its pretty much why companies hate paying to train new hires.
