Daley Won't Endorse

Mayor Daley made it official. He won't endorse anyone in the race for Cook County Board President.

The mayor says that he's too busy and that endorsement don't matter anyways. In this case, they may be a bad thing. There's also been bad blood between the Stroger camp and the Daley camp over several issues including Stroger raising the sales tax.

Meanwhile, U.S. Rep, Jesse Jackson Jr. just endorsed Pat Quinn for Governor.

U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. on Friday endorsed Gov. Pat Quinn for the Democratic governor nomination, a move that could boost Quinn with African-American voters but also draws attention to the ethical cloud surrounding ousted ex- Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

A House ethics panel has launched an inquiry into whether Jackson or his representatives tried to secure the Senate seat vacated by President Barack Obama in exchange for raising campaign cash for Blagojevich, who has been indicted on federal corruption charges.

Jackson's political star has been falling fast since that scandal. Judicial Watch recently named him the sixth most corrupt politician in the country. Quinn has been leading comfortably over his challenger, Dan Hynes, but now is when the campaign goes into full swing.
